What The Heck Am I Doing?

This blog all started with an idea, as most probably do. I wanted to make a coffee table book of my scenic photos from around Oregon. It would have been called "Oregon 365: From Beach to Burns". I want to capture Oreogn in its finest all during the year. I have lived in Oregon for 15 years, and although I admire the beauty throughout all the United States and World, I think Oregon is a very diverse and beautiful place to live. We have lush evergreen forests, peaks that rise into the sky, gorgeous coastline, rolling hills, valleys, desert plateaus, canyons, rivers, lakes, and streams a plenty! There is so much in Oregon to admire, I feel you can go anywhere and find beauty. So that is the purpose of this blog, to admire and recognize the diverse beauty throughout Oregon.
Disclaimer: For those wondering, I have not altered or enhanced any image. The only editing done was to crop or rotate the image. These are straight from the source.

Day Seventy-Four

This was taken at Silver Falls. My husband really liked the angle I got, so I thought I’d share.

Day Seventy-Three

This is a nice shot of Mary’s Peak just west of Corvallis. This was taken one week ago and the weather was sunny and 65 degrees… but now it is 40 degrees, cloudy, and there is snow on the peak. Amazing how drastically weather changes.

Day Seventy-Two

This is of the local creek called Oak Creek. It is quite long and runs through a good portion of Corvallis. I would say its one of the more prominent creeks in Corvallis. This was beneath the Irish Bend covered bridge.

Day Seventy-One

This is from my trip to Silver Falls early this month. It is a path near the South Falls leading back to the park. I just love all the winding trails throughout Oregon!

Day Seventy

So did you know that the Willamette Valley used to be a huge oak savannah? Yep, it once was… before man came and established themselves. There are hints of this here and there, and near the Benton County Fairgrounds is one such place.

Day Sixty-Nine

This was this past weekend at the Irish Bend Covered Bridge. I really do love covered bridges, there is just something about them that makes me smile.

Day Sixty-Eight

This was taken this last weekend on our walk by the covered bridge and Benton County Fairgrounds. I love cherry, apple, and crab apple blossom trees. I think they are the epitome of spring!
